Disclaimer and Privacy Page

In this guide we will show you how to add a disclaimer message and privacy policy page to your site.

For full compliance with EU cookie laws, consent should be gained from visitors before using cookies. To achieve this, an element should be added to each page warning visitors that cookies are used, linking directly to the privacy and cookies policy of the site and should be clicked to disappear to ensure the visitor has seen it.

More information on the new EU cookie law can be found on the Information Commissioner's website.

To create a  disclaimer message and privacy policy page navigate to 'Settings' in the menubar and in the dropdown menu click on 'Privacy & Cookies'.

Ensure the 'Show Privacy Page' option is set to Yes

The Page Title is set to ‘Privacy & Cookies' by default but can be changed if needed.

Navigate to the 'Privacy Policy' field. Here is where you put the content for the page that is visible to people visiting the page. If you’re familiar with Microsoft word or any other word processors, you should find this interface very familiar. You have the ability to change formatting, include links, include pictures, style your text and embed videos.
